Samantha Weese

Samantha is a Chinese medicine practitioner and professional movement artist. As a child growing up surrounded by the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and the desert of New Mexico, Samantha has always had a deep reverence for the natural world. Her own dismay with the Western medical industrial complex led her to find holistic medicine at a very young age, after struggling with endometriosis for years. By the age of 16 she was regularly studying herbal remedies and at 17 she found an interest in yoga and ayurveda and completed a yoga teacher training. From there, she went on to study anthropology, through which she found a passion for Chinese medicine, which quickly changed her entire perception of health and her entire life. At 20 years old she trained as a doula and then began her exploration of Chinese medicine.
After three years at Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine she received her Master’s in Science of Acupuncture. Following this training, she spent another two years at Yo San University to deepen her herbal and clinical training, where she was regularly booked months in advance at the student clinic. At Yo San she also further studied qi gong and Infinichi energy healing under the 38 generation Ni family lineage and received a second Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Samantha blends her studies of Traditional Chinese Medicine with 5-Element acupuncture, esoteric acupuncture, and other modalities including herbal medicine, nutrition, qi gong, cupping, energy work, and more in order to balance the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual pillars of health. She has experience treating a range of dis-ease yet feels most drawn to menstrual, digestive, and mental/emotional health concerns. She is currently based out of Brooklyn, treating patients through her personal practice and at Brooklyn Acupuncture Project, an affordable, community acupuncture clinic. While she is not practicing, she is dancing professionally throughout NYC and continuing to honor and study street dance lineage.

Testimonials
“Sam is an incredibly attentive and knowledgeable practitioner. As a fellow dancer, she respected how important it was that I feel aware and comfortable with the sensations and experiences that arose during our time together. She is careful but confident in her work, and her passion for wellness is clear in her ability to articulate her knowledge of the body while attending to the specific needs of her clients”. -Emily P.

“Sam gave me the communication and advocacy skills to question my western medicine doctor. I was casually told by my doctor I would have to take a medication for the rest of my life, that didn’t sit well with me. I knew there had to be another way. After remembering the advice and concepts Sam taught me, I was able to connect with a practitioner that aligned with my goals. If I had never met Sam, I wouldn’t have had the confidence to leave Western medicine and find Chinese medicine. Do yourself a favor and schedule a consultation with Sam!” -Diana R.

“I received an InfiniChi energy treatment from Samantha that was very special. Within moments, I felt the arrival of Qi. The next 20 minutes were spent drifting pleasantly in that state between sleep & wakefulness. Her energy is so calm & relaxing, and yet the treatment was invigorating too. I can only imagine how fantastic her skills with needles must be….Thank you, Samantha!” -Anitra M.

“Like so many, the pandemic kicked my ass, both mentally and physically. I developed a chronic dry cough, debilitating insomnia which caused a plethora of mental health issues and digestion problems and overall pain. Frustrated after seeing doctor after doctor who just wanted to prescribe meds and send me home without finding the cause, I searched for an acupuncturist and was lucky enough to find Samantha. I immediately felt at ease with her gentle ways and her skillful needle work. She asked lots of questions and then genuinely listened to the answers which seems rare. She is highly skilled with the needles and does energy work as well. After a few sessions my cough completely cleared up and I started feeling more grounded and less panicky. My sleep improved immensely and my digestion balanced out. Samantha never took credit for my healing, always mentioning that it was me who was the one doing the work.
I hope she comes back to California, she is a gift and she put me at ease with her kindness”. -Maggie E.
